This isn't news, as the recent four-time world champion has stated numerous times in various forums that, as much as he loves and respects Formula 1, there's life beyond it. And he wants to experience that...
All of this was mentioned by the Dutch star's father, Jos Verstappen, who revealed that, according to him, his son has a plan to leave F1 competition for a year as a trial:
"He has a contract with Red Bull Racing until 2028, but after that, nothing is set in stone. We'll see if he's still interested in F1 after that... Until now, throughout his career, everyone has always told him what to do and how to do it. Now the time is approaching when he will no longer listen to anyone; he alone will make the decisions. What is certain is that there is life beyond Formula 1, and that really excites Max's imagination.
"I think it's possible he could take a year off, try somewhere else, and then come back. I don't know what will happen yet, but one thing is certain: he's not motivated by seven or eight world titles, nor is he chasing records. He's already more than satisfied with what he's achieved in his Formula 1 career." - Verstappen's father made a rather interesting statement.
Do you think Max will just pack up and leave at some point?
