Franco Collapinto's breakthrough performance could not only mark the start of a new career, but also the return of a nation to Formula 1—and indeed, of a Grand Prix with serious traditions!
It is none other than the Argentine Grand Prix, for which official negotiations for its return have already begun in Brazil. The Argentine delegation was represented by the country's Minister of Tourism and Sports, while Formula 1 was represented by Stefano Domenicali. After the meetings, Cesar Carman, president of the Argentine Automobile Club, spoke about the plans and proposals:
“Stefano was really open and kind with us. He said he would like to see another Grand Prix on the racing calendar, but he didn't hide the fact that he expects a lot of work from us, and that we need to start as soon as possible if we're serious about our intentions. We have a lot to do; we must improve our current circuit so it can achieve the top-level qualification needed for F1. We're very optimistic, though; it's difficult to make predictions, but if I had to, I think an Argentine Grand Prix could become a reality in 2027-2028. I won't deny it; Franco Colapinto's debut and successes motivate us greatly; many things are happening because of him. The fans are excited, everyone is excited; these are dream days in Argentina,” Carman declared.
