Is it clear that a pilot who makes a mistake in the departure procedure is fined X amount, while another who swears is fined double that amount? This has exhausted the patience of the pilots in the organization that defends their interests!
The International Automobile Federation has been taking things too far lately, and this hasn't just sparked the ire of fans. The drivers' association, led by George Russell, has sent an open letter to the FIA president:
"We are professional drivers competing in Formula 1, at the pinnacle of international motorsport. We are gladiators, and every race weekend we put on a special show for the fans. When it comes to foul language, there's a big difference between wanting to hurt someone and, for example, uttering unfiltered words about the weather, our inanimate car, or making an unfiltered statement about a racing situation.
"Therefore, we would like to ask FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem to be mindful of his tone and language when speaking to us or about us, regardless of whether it is a private conversation or a public forum. We are adults who do not need to be educated through the media, much less about such everyday things as what to say or what not to wear..." Russell's team firmly stated.
