They didn't wait for Wednesday's team tests; they already revealed their new car last night, which they'll take to the track tomorrow in Bahrain for a day of filming.
The team opted for the usual online presentation, during which they released graphics of the AMR25. According to Fernando Alonso, this model is 95% different from last year's car. The sidepods and the front wing have been modified, and are significantly developed. Their aim is to achieve better pace in slower corners than ever before. Furthermore, the cooling system and engine cover have been transformed, and the overall appearance has been improved in terms of the effectiveness of the aerodynamic package.
All of these changes were made to improve the car's handling and avoid the difficulties seen last year, when Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll struggled extensively. With the aforementioned innovations, the Aston Martin is expected to be stronger on circuits with technical characteristics that represented a weakness last year.
“In this year's car, we've used all the lessons and feedback from last season. Our goal was to provide a much more manageable car for Lance and Fernando, and we've worked hard to keep it under control and make it more drivable,” said Andy Cowell, the green team's team leader.
