Sebastian Vettel has expressed his support for his former greatest rival. According to the German world champion, if anyone can get Ferrari out of its long slump, it's Lewis Hamilton.
Despite supporting his teammate's success, he couldn't develop at Scuderia Ferrari precisely because of Hamilton. But that doesn't bother Vettel:
“It's true, I wasn't successful, partly because Lewis had a better package with Mercedes back then. We'll see how things go with him with Ferrari, but I'm supporting him wholeheartedly. We've fought hard against each other, and over time we've become good friends, and I don't have to prove the skills and work he's put in. He's the most sincere driver in Formula 1 today; his results and record speak for themselves, and he always uses his influence for positive purposes, so it's a pleasure that he's still part of the grid. I'm very excited for him to win the championship, but it won't be easy. There's Charles Leclerc, who is very talented, and the two of them are a very strong pairing, but it's not just up to them to still have a chance at winning the title in the final races. Let's hope it's close; that would benefit everyone,” reflected Sebastian Vettel.
