The four-time world champion was not short on praise, not even his own. In fact, he produced some rather entertaining thoughts, which—much to our delight—even Helmut Marko joined in!
In the post-race euphoria, Max Verstappen said that he could have won the 2024 world championship with McLaren, or even Ferrari. Several people asked his boss in amazement: How could the recent winner say something like that?
"He can say that on that legal basis, which is absolutely true. There are no other drivers who could have beaten him, only himself, and there is no other driver who could have won a championship behind the wheel of a Red Bull. And given that he wasn't in the best car, it's obvious that he would have had his chances in another one as well. This was a difficult and variable season, but I'm not sure we'll be as successful in 2025... If we can give him a car that isn't as capricious as this year's, then yes, Max will do it," opined Helmut Marko.
What do you think? Wouldn't Verstappen really have any other rivals besides himself, in another team and with other drivers?
