Max Verstappen doesn't like being compared to Ayrton Senna or Michael Schumacher, but he acknowledges there's an overlap between his career and morale and that of other record-breaking champions.
Many, for example, mention the names written above in a negative context in relation to Verstappen, saying they were also "dirty drivers." The Dutch driver sees this very differently.
"I'm not interested in praise or compliments at all. I just want to win, and for that, I'm willing to do anything—so I'll do whatever it takes! This connects me with drivers like Michael Schumacher; I really see similarities there. He, too, did everything he could to create the greatest possible chance of victory for himself. That was true when he was in the car and racing, and that was also true outside the car, during development work. He was never afraid and always listened to his common sense. That's exactly what I do too!"—Verstappen described himself and his style.
