Sainz: "I know that from now on I won't fight for victories."

Sainz: "Sé que a partir de ahora no lucharé por victorias"

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

It's sad to see that while Sergio Pérez, suffering a brutal defeat on all fronts, remains part of Red Bull, or that Lance Stroll, equally weak, is immovable at Aston Martin, Carlos Sainz is getting his share at Williams.

However, the Spaniard has shown in recent years that, given the right training, he could even have a role to play in the fight for the world championship. But now everything changes…

“I know that from now on I won't be fighting for podiums or wins; the next few years will be about something completely different. But the truth is, people can't imagine how excited and motivated I am about what will happen at Williams. It may sound strange, but it's a very motivating project for me. Perhaps because of the challenge of being the one to help such a legendary team return to the top. I want to make this happen in the shortest possible time!”
It is my firm intention to return them to where they belong.

"In terms of my performance, I know I have a place in the fight for podium positions. I could even say I belong here. But Williams can't forget that they belong here too, at least among the top five, but they should primarily be on the podium positions. Our shared goal is to get Williams and myself fighting for these positions in the near future," Carlos Sainz declared with determination.
