There are increasing rumors that Max Verstappen will not follow in the footsteps of his fellow world champions and will retire before his fellow drivers.
Verstappen has mentioned on several occasions that he has many plans outside of F1 and that he does not want to grow old in Formula 1. The retention of the Dutch world champion is not helped by the continuation of the demagoguery initiated by the FIA in 2024, according to which drivers are constantly harassed and punished for any nonsense... In one of the most high-profile cases, Max Verstappen himself has been attacked, something that the Red Bull Racing driver, four-time world champion, has not forgotten since:
“If I have to deal with these things, I feel like it will clearly affect my vision for the future in Formula 1. Of course, it's very nice to win and become world champion, but beyond that, I want to feel good about what I do. And if I can't be myself because of the FIA restrictions, then I'll have to change that vision for the future…” Verstappen recently said, not alone in his discouraging opinion, as the entire drivers' organization supports him. If they keep pulling at the lion's whiskers, two things could happen… But we'll leave that to your imagination.
