The joke is that this last happened 800 Formula 1 races ago. All of this happened accompanied by pole position and the fastest lap!
Furthermore, with this, Oscar Piastri has joined the world championship contenders, as he is just three points behind his teammate, Lando Norris, who leads the standings. Piastri has won four races so far in his career, and with his latest victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix, he set an Australian national record.
Alan Jones achieved similar success in 1980, at the Argentine Grand Prix, the opening race of the season, with the Williams team. This was the 329th race in the series, while last weekend's Bahrain race was the 1129th, so exactly 800 races would have passed before an Australian could repeat this feat. This bodes well for Piastri, as when this happened with Jones, he also won the world championship that year...
