Although Lando Norris lost the individual battle, his performance in the final round allowed McLaren to secure the constructors' championship title. That's already secured, but in 2025, he'll also want to win the drivers' competition...
Norris admits defeat and also that in 2024 Max Verstappen was better than him, however, he sees the lesson behind the missed opportunity:
"Coming in second, losing the win is always painful, however - it may sound strange - but I'm already happy to face 2025 knowing that I'm capable of fighting. I know myself, my strengths, my limitations, nobody knows better than me what I need to improve. There are areas where I'm strong, there are others where I'm not so strong, I'm open to criticism and I'm willing to improve wherever necessary.
Last year, my qualifying performance wasn't the best, but this year I was almost twice as good, and I got a ton of pole positions. This year, I still didn't have that extra edge that would have allowed me to beat Max Verstappen, with whom I could have battled. However, I definitely felt that he's human too, and if I improve my technique here and there, I can confidently say I have the strength to beat him.
"I feel like I've already come close to that in the last few races, where I've achieved solid results. I hope 2025 is a year where I'll be competing for the world title from the very first race!" Norris declared emphatically.
