Although there are increasingly more young drivers in F1, there are still established stars who have many good years and results ahead of them. The preseason buzz is focused on one of them, namely Lewis Hamilton.
Much is expected of him at Scuderia Ferrari, and both fans and the industry feel this way. Juan Pablo Montoya has recently shared his opinion:
"I see Lewis Hamilton's situation as exactly the same as Fernando Alonso's. Despite the passage of time and having turned forty, they still have the pace for the world title. This can be clearly seen in that, even with weaker cars, both often achieve top-10 qualifying finishes. It's worth imagining what would happen if they were given competitive technology. In Lewis's case, this would lead to invincibility, I'm sure of it.
"If they give him a fast car, we'll see the brilliance of the old Lewis Hamilton from a few years ago again, that man and competitor no one could beat. Not even Max Verstappen. So now the ball is in Scuderia Ferrari's court..." - Montoya reflected.
Would Hamilton really be that good?
