The 2025 racing season hasn't even started yet, but George Russell could already be the first to do something. There's a good chance he'll be the one the FIA chooses to set an example with its new swearing regulations.
The Mercedes team driver got carried away during the first day of testing in Bahrain, where he told the streaming service Viaplay that "Oh shit, the power's gone out" in reference to a blackout that interrupted his day.
With this, he's already in the crosshairs of the new regulations, which examine whether he has caused any moral damage to the FIA, to the perception of the organization, its members, officials, and, in general, to motorsport as a whole. What a bad joke! If the accusation is upheld, this minor indiscretion by Russell will cost him €40,000. If he continues to swear on future occasions, this could go up to €120,000, followed by point deductions and a possible suspension of up to one month. On this basis, Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen wouldn't even have to start in 2025...
