McLaren sent an unusually strong message, this time to its own drivers. Andrea Stella made it clear that any driver who doesn't serve the team's interests won't have a long life at the team!
Stella didn't hold back; the team director doesn't want to see any trace of the disputes that hampered McLaren's strategy on several occasions last year:
“There is no first and second place; both drivers have the same opportunities. We started the year with the same principles as last year. We are proud of our performance last year, as well as the behavior of our drivers and their positive collaboration. We learned a lot from 2024, and this includes the human factor. We were competitive, we will be; we cannot make mistakes, and to do that, we need to continue collaborating closely. We have learned all the lessons from last year; everyone will have the opportunity to prove themselves. However, it is important to make it clear that if someone does not believe in McLaren's principles, then they are not the right person, nor the right driver for the team, and we will part ways with them.” - was Stella's forceful message.
