Marko: “We know Max isn’t happy with us...”

Marko: “Sabemos que Max no es feliz con nosotros...”

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Helmut Marko and his team pulled off another typical Red Bull Racing blunder this week by firing Liam Lawson after just two races. It's not just the aforementioned driver who's unhappy about this.

Team icon Max Verstappen isn't either. Verstappen has already given numerous indications that he's not satisfied with his situation at RBR, and this may be a further push for him in another direction...

"We're clear that Max isn't happy right now. But he also needs to understand that we need two cars, and not just for the constructors' championship. Rather, to help him secure another world title. Strategically, we need the presence of both our cars at the front, and we hope Yuki Tsunoda will live up to the expectations placed on him. Yuki arrives in good form, and if he can maintain that here, it will be beneficial for Max. We previously didn't select him because he wasn't balanced enough. However, Lawson cracked under pressure, entered a negative spiral, and couldn't get out of it. He found himself in a situation like a boxer being told off. We made a mistake by not seeing this weakness earlier," said Marko, who probably gave new life to the Verstappen/Aston Martin rumors.
