Although the season hasn't even started yet, more and more voices in the industry are pointing out that defending champion Red Bull Racing will have to move up.
Not even Red Bull denies this, in fact. Of course, nonsense may be said now, like "they're in a state of lethargy" and so on, but the truth is that a characteristic has emerged during testing. And as far as the Australian Grand Prix is concerned, it doesn't anticipate Max Verstappen's success. This was also acknowledged by Helmut Marko, who in an interview emphasized that, although they have made progress compared to 2024, the others have made more progress:
"Currently, the favorite is undoubtedly McLaren. Tests have shown that they have improved significantly both over single laps and in longer stints, not to mention tire wear. However, their superiority cannot be considered alarming, especially considering the weather conditions in which the first kilometers were completed.
"It would be difficult to predict the exact order of strength, but I think there could be as many as four teams competing against each other this year. I'm talking about the same four teams that dominated the field last year, only now I imagine a tougher fight," said Helmut Marko.
And we just add that if this were to happen, we wouldn't complain at all!
