Hamilton: "If I get eighth, I won't retire!"

Hamilton: "¡Si logro el octavo, no me retiraré!"

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Lewis Hamilton has made it clear that he didn't come to Maranello to retire, but rather the opposite: he wants to be the person who will help Scuderia Ferrari win the world championship for the first time since 2007.

If anyone has experience winning a championship with a team that's seen better days, it's the Briton. He wants to build on that experience, and if he succeeds, he won't retire. In fact!

“A world title with Scuderia Ferrari for me wouldn't be my eighth, but rather my first. Yes, I want to win a championship with Ferrari, for Ferrari, that's what I'm currently working on. Right now, I'm not thinking about what could be my eighth, which would break all records, but rather I'm pursuing this dream as if it were my first. Although the team has won many titles in the past, they haven't been successful for a while, and I feel it's my mission to help them achieve that. I am and will always be focused on winning; all my thoughts are dedicated to how I can be as useful as possible to achieving that goal. If I'm successful and win another world title, I definitely won't retire. I can't imagine leaving…” – declared Lewis Hamilton.
