US Grand Prix, sprint race: Verstappen takes easy victory

Gran Premio de EE. UU., carrera sprint: Victoria fácil de Verstappen

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

The sprint race continued with the US Grand Prix, where after a long time Max Verstappen was able to start from pole position and managed to convert it into victory.

Verstappen got off to a good start, but Lando Norris got off to an even better start and quickly settled behind the Dutchman in second place. Behind them, George Russell held steady, just as there wasn't much movement in the rear positions. This wasn't the case for Scuderia Ferrari, where the drivers were attacking each other and were already in contention for the front positions. Reading the names between first and sixth place, we didn't see anything really surprising, but looking further down the line, it was already more interesting: two Haas drivers in the top ten, and Sergio Pérez, as usual, couldn't keep up with Yuki Tsunoda even in the strongest car, so events were in motion. Finally, after a great fight, Pérez managed to overtake the Japanese, whom even Oscar Piastri overtook. By lap 19, Verstappen's victory was already undisputed, but behind him, there was a fierce battle for the podium. In the end, Carlos Sainz, who gave extra performance throughout the sprint race, took second place, ahead of Lando Norris.

Qualifying is coming soon, hopefully with similar emotions!
