Sergio Pérez's place at Red Bull Racing is in jeopardy; this is no longer news. Names are emerging every day as potential replacements, and now Christian Fittipaldi has made an interesting proposal.
Former Formula 1 driver Fittipaldi suggests that Oscar Piastri, the second driver at Red Bull, could tire and leave McLaren at the end of the season, continuing his career in Perez's place from 2025:
"As strange as it may seem to think about it now, I don't think it's impossible for Oscar Piastri to leave McLaren at the end of the year and move to Red Bull to replace Pérez. By then, Piastri might grow a little tired of supporting Lando Norris in the second-place role and make the decision to switch, driven by a sudden idea," Fittipaldi mused.
It may sound crazy, but there are several possibilities. One is that Piastri could get into the best car on the current grid and compare himself to the best driver in the championship. Red Bull, in turn, would gain a great driver and seriously weaken its main rival, McLaren. It's an interesting proposition!
