It's not just ordinary news - thank goodness, this time in a positive context - the famous Belgian racing circuit has made the news.
King Philippe of Belgium has announced that this year the Kingdom of Belgium will issue a coin honoring one of the most famous racetracks in the world, if not the most famous.
In countries that use the euro, it is common practice to issue two types of 2-euro coins each year with a new design. The obverse of these coins commemorates significant and important themes for the issuing country or for Europe.
In his statement, King Felipe also describes that the reverse of the "Spa-Francorchamps euro" will feature the circuit layout, with two numbers on the left: 7004 and 1921. The first clearly symbolizes the current length of the circuit, and the second represents the year it opened, as that was the year the first races were held there. An official design for the coin has yet to be released, but it's worth keeping an eye out: you can get a beautiful Formula 1 souvenir, and it's free!
