Victory is a beautiful thing, even more beautiful is the title of champion, but probably the most beautiful thing is when your rivals also recognize you. Especially when they're the ones you look up to as role models.
Max Verstappen has never made a secret of how much he admires and appreciates Fernando Alonso. Now Alonso hasn't... One of the greatest champions of all time, if not the greatest, paid tribute to Verstappen and at the same time highlighted something very interesting:
"There's no doubt about it, Max has clearly done the best job this year, getting things out of the RB20 that weren't really there... A big round of applause to him for that! Not just because he's taken his fourth title, but because he's done it in a car that wasn't even dominant. We've often seen glimpses of him that aren't down to the car, but down to genius. The best example is the Brazilian Grand Prix, where he showed what true talent means.
"There hasn't been a better driver than him this year, we can all learn from him!" praised the two-time Spanish world champion of Max Verstappen.
