Franco Colapinto arrived like a comet midway through the season, and although he failed to secure a seat for 2025, he did not leave without recognition.
In fact, thanks to the fans' votes, he can console himself with the award for best overtaking move of the year. And he received it for none other than the maneuver he performed on Fernando Alonso in Austin. He probably also needed the hundreds of thousands of Argentinian votes, but the change of position he made at the end of the long straight on the Texan circuit (BELOW) turned out to be the most beautiful of the year.
Many were outraged by this, and in the publication announcing the award, many argued that there were much more beautiful overtaking moves during the year and that he didn't deserve to be chosen as the best, but overall, Franco Colapinto brought a new color to the often gray world of Formula 1 during the races he had at his disposal.
