Today, the collective testing continued in Bahrain, where this time a Williams was the fastest, beating the two Ferraris.
Thursday wasn't ideal either: a cloudy and slightly rainy track greeted the group. Despite this, George Russell quickly improved on the previous day's best time, and then Lewis Hamilton took the lead. In the second hour, a surprise came: a downpour so intense it prevented further work. The reason was quite ridiculous: the teams weren't prepared with rain tires (WTF??).
After the enforced break, Hamilton got his act together and achieved the best time of the morning. This time could only be beaten by one person, Carlos Sainz, who had already closed in on Hamilton in the morning session, finishing the day on the same compound as the Briton. Sainz, incidentally, had an extremely productive day, leading the Williams alone, completing 120 laps without any problems. The same cannot be said for Liam Lawson, who also completed the day, but struggled greatly with the technical aspect of the Red Bull, and is also struggling with his confidence. McLaren "let" this day go; last year's constructors' champion clearly worked on something else instead of chasing times, concentrating more on long stints.
